No Wheat Week

This week we’re going to re-visit dropping wheat from your daily diet. Dieters who have dropped wheat products have noticed improvements in energy, mood and sleep. I know it may not be easy to do, sonce we have so many wheat products around. (And I love them all.) But by dropping the bread, pasta, crackers and especially the pastries you WILL see a difference. I notice in as little as a day that I actually feel less bloated. Couple that with five daily servings of fruits and vegetables plus that 30 minutes of walking and you’ve got a recipe for success.

TODAY: DROP WHEAT PRODUCTS FROM YOUR MENU.

The Longest Day

Sure you probably thought the first day of dieting was the longest day. Well we’re reached that point in the in the year with the most daylight. Consider it your chance to get some exercise after dinner each evening. The weather isn’t  hindrance. It’s not too cold, the heat wanes in the evening, it should be a pleasant way to wrap up your day and get the habit going for the rest of the year. The days will get shorter but not for weeks. Take advantage of it while you can.

TODAY: START TAKING THAT EVENING WALK.

The Wonders of Cleansing

I recently had a Colonoscopy. I encourage you to do the same. It literally saved my life because they found and removed a small cancer. If it was six months later I would have a different story for you.

The procedure itself was nothing uncomfortable. The prep was not necessarily pleasant… but it was effective and actually sort of cathartic. I truly felt cleaned out. I had a follow-up exam and had to do it to a lesser degree, but I still was rather diligent about it. Between the laxative, and clear liquid diet for 24 hours I felt very good the next day. I also found that there are a number of soup stock and broth flavors that are great all by themselves. So those are now on my diet menu.

So get a check-up or at least get cleaned out.

TODAY: IF YOU ARE OVER 50 SCHEDULE A COLONOSCOPY.
